Flexible, practical options to make professional development more accessible.
Investing in your marketing career is one of the best decisions you can make – but let’s be honest, funding that next step can feel like a hurdle. We believe that high-quality learning should be as accessible as possible. That’s why we offer flexible solutions to help you spread the cost, reduce the pressure, and focus on your growth.
Whether you’re self-funding, getting support from your employer, or somewhere in between, here are four practical ways to fund your CIM qualification.
Many employers are more than willing to support CIM training – especially when they understand the value it brings to their team.
A professional qualification can:
Not sure how to approach the conversation? We’ve put together a dedicated blog to help you frame the ask, show the return on investment, and present a confident case.

Even if your employer can’t fully fund the course, they may still be open to part-funding it.
Many businesses offer a training budget or professional development allowance that can be used towards the cost of a CIM qualification. In some cases, your employer might agree to cover the course fees if you pay for the exams – or vice versa.
It’s worth asking:
You don’t always need full funding to make it work – part-funding can still make a big difference.
We know that a one-off payment isn’t realistic for everyone – especially when you’re balancing work, bills, and everyday life.
That’s why we offer flexible payment plans to help spread the cost of your course over manageable monthly instalments. This can help you:
Our team will work with you to find a payment schedule that fits your budget – no pressure, no hidden fees.
If you need more financial breathing room, you can choose to extend the duration of your course, so rather than completing it in one year, you could spread the course out across two years, for example. This allows you to stretch out payments and reduce the monthly amount, while still progressing steadily through your qualification.
It’s a great option for learners who are self-funding on a tight budget, need extra time due to work or family commitments or just prefer a gentler pace of study without sacrificing depth.
You’re in control of your learning journey, and we’re here to support you at every stage.
We’re all about transparency and accessibility. So here’s what you won’t find at TMLA:
Your course fee covers everything you need to succeed – from expert tuition to learning materials and support. The only separate cost is your CIM exam fees, which are paid as you go, when you’re ready to sit each module assessment. That means you’re not paying for everything upfront if you’re not ready.
If you’re studying at Level 4 or above and meet the criteria, you may be eligible for a government-funded student loan.

“As someone in the early stages of their marketing career, I really wanted to broaden my knowledge beyond the scope of my current role. I knew that having a solid, well-rounded understanding of marketing would help me grow and become more confident in my abilities – and that’s exactly what led me to TMLA and the CIM Level 4 course.
The course has given me a much deeper understanding of the wider marketing landscape. It’s really helped me see how all the different pieces fit together, which in turn has made me feel more confident and capable in my day-to-day work. What I love is how practical the course is – you can take what you’ve learnt and apply it straight away. I’ve already made changes to our business newsletter after a really insightful session on adding value for your audience (shoutout to Jessica for that one!). It’s made me think differently about how and why we communicate with our audience, not just what we’re saying.
The support from the tutors was brilliant – they’re always approachable and happy to answer questions, even outside the weekly sessions. And the wider TMLA team was just as great. Communication has been spot on and I’ve always felt well-supported throughout.
Another big plus for me has been how flexible the course is. The sessions are held online in the evenings, which makes it easy to fit around work and other commitments. On top of that, the exams can be taken at any point within the exam window, which has been really helpful – I’ve been able to sit my exams at a time that genuinely works for me.
Overall, I’d absolutely recommend this course to anyone looking to deepen their marketing knowledge. The content is engaging, the support is fantastic, and you walk away with skills and insights that you can use straight away. I feel so much more confident in what I am doing and how my career could progress.”
