What you'll learn.

Learn how to take a strategic approach to content, aligning it with wider marketing and business objectives. You’ll develop the skills to set content goals, audit existing activity and create strategies that make use of models such as BEST and Hub, Hero, Hygiene. The module explores how to plan and distribute content across paid, owned and earned channels, apply governance frameworks, and review copy to ensure the right message reaches the right audience in the right way.

By the end of this module, you’ll be able to design and manage content strategies that drive measurable business impact.

How you'll be assessed.

You’ll complete a 2-hour online exam – flexible, practical and available to take at any point within an allocated exam window.

Your CIM membership.

To sit your exam and access valuable resources, a CIM membership is required. You can join as an Affiliate Studying Member for £65 per year.

Credits and qualification time.

This is a 10-credit module, equating to approximately 100 study hours made up of:
  • Guided learning hours
  • Practical and work-based learning
  • Exam preparation time
  • Exam time
  • Supported self-study time

Fees.

Tuition fees are payable to TMLA prior to starting your course. CIM membership and exam fees are payable directly to CIM.

Tuition Fees:

£700+ VAT for this stand alone module or £2,690 + VAT for the full qualification.

CIM Fees:

£165 (VAT exempt) exam fee per module + £65 annual student CIM membership.

Entry requirements.

To register for this module, you’ll need to meet one of the following criteria that reflect your qualifications or professional experience:

  • CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing or Digital Marketing
  • A relevant Level 4 qualification or apprenticeship (e.g. Marketing Executive)
  • An equivalent Level 6 apprenticeship (e.g. Marketing Manager)
  • A marketing-focused degree (at least 120 credits at Bachelor’s level or 60 at Master’s level)
  • Professional practice – typically two years in an operational marketing role, plus diagnostic assessment

If English isn’t your first language, you’ll need to provide proof of proficiency: IELTS Academic Module with 6.5 overall with no component below 6.0 or Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English grade B or above. CIM will consider other equivalent alternatives.

Check you meet all these criteria before applying:

  • You’re aged 19–65 (if self-employed, you can be over 65).
  • You’ve lived in the UK for at least 3 years and can prove your right to work (e.g. passport, visa).
  • You currently live or work  in Derbyshire or Nottinghamshire.
  • You’re either:
    • looking for a job in digital marketing
    • self-employed
    • supported by an employer who will contribute to your place
  • You’re ready to start work as soon as the course ends.
  • You can join live lessons every Wednesday 9:30am-4:30pm.
  • You can commit to around 10 hours of learning each week for 12 weeks.
  • You haven’t joined another Skills Bootcamp in the last 12 months.
  • You’ll attend a 30-minute screening interview.
  • You’re willing to share personal information with MacMartin, the EMCCA and the DfE. We store data securely under GDPR.
  • You’ll provide evidence of your progress, such as proof of an interview, a new job, or an action plan showing how you’ve applied your learning.
