Overview.

As societal challenges grow, businesses are increasingly expected to drive positive change for people, the planet, and profit. This module equips marketers to meet these expectations by exploring sustainability, inclusive practices, human welfare, and environmental responsibility. It covers how to develop data-driven cases for change, create sustainable marketing strategies, and set metrics to balance business and societal goals. It also highlights the importance of collaboration and partnership strategies, incorporating ethics, ED&I, and long-term environmental goals to align marketing with broader organisational change.

Student outcomes.

By the end of this module students will:
  • Understand the changing societal and environmental landscape and its wider concepts, and what that means for business and society.
  • Understand how marketing can align and support the business, societal and environmental agendas.
  • Understand the process of long-term planning to implement societal change and measure results.

Credits and qualification time.

This is a 10-credit module, equating to approximately 100 study hours made up of:
  • guided learning hours
  • practical and work-based learning
  • exam preparation time
  • exam time
  • supported self-study time

CIM membership.

Membership with CIM is required to allow students to book exams and access support and resources. All students studying CIM qualifications can join at the Affiliate Studying level for £65 per year.

Assessment.

The assessment for this module is a 2 hour online exam that can be taken at a time convenient for you. 

Fees.

Tuition fees are payable to TMLA prior to starting your course. CIM membership and exam fees are payable directly to CIM.

Tuition Fees:

£700+ VAT for this stand alone module or £2,690 + VAT for the full qualification.

CIM Fees:

£165 (VAT exempt) exam fee per module + £65 annual student CIM membership.

Entry requirements.

To enrol on this course, you will need one or more of the following:

If English is not your first language, you will also need to provide evidence of achieving one of the following English Language qualifications within the last two years: IELTS Academic Module with an overall score of 6.5 (each component pass mark must be 6.0 or above) or Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English grade B or above. CIM will consider other equivalent alternatives.
